What car is that? Is that a GM? I hope those dudes make an intake for our v6 =)

The alloytec platform spans 2.8 to 4.0 (although never seen one produced). From what I can find -- the only real difference is the internals, cam profile and injection type. The heads all appear to be the same, so this intake manifold *should* be a direct bolt-on. |

how much would this set up cost, and would this kill the fuel economy?

I wouldn't worry about it killing fuel economy so much as your torque curve.

Gents,
That's a race motor. It just illustrates that these little bastards can flow to nearly 9K on stock bottom end. In a street car, this really wouldn't be all that helpful...forced induction is still the best method of extracting power of the small displacement. |

Yeah I gathered that from the first dyno graph. They didn't even start the pull until something like 5000RPM hahah. Regardless, that engine would be SWEEEEEEEET in a light car like an S2000. Good to know these engines are tough!

it really bumped the power band around. tho that is on a "full race alloytec engine" compared to a stock engine.

Keep in mind that the engine that intake manifold is designed for is the fuel injected alloytec, not the direct injection. I'm not sure if it would be usable. The OEM intake manifolds are different, and I'm sure there's a reason for that.
Now, if this is compatible... Well, it'll be going onto my mods list for sure. - Xanthos

Sorry for the necro post, but I was looking at this again today (mostly to see if it might be possible to fit one of these on our engine if you just tap a line for the MAP) and I noticed something that seems somewhat important.
Yes, the power band is rediculously high on this engine, but that doesn't seem to be because of the intake manifold, but because of all of the internals work done to it. The intake manifold did nothing but increase the powerband. Over the entire thing. Something to think about. - X

Yes, that seems to be the case.
Considering that, and the fact that it goes for 2000 AUD (about 1600 american dollars) I'm not sure it would be a worthwhile mod for the price. Plus, I'm not entirely convinced that the same gains couldn't be realized by porting the stock intake manifold. - X
