I am getting wheel hop in my first to second shift on the track. Normal?
Also, do you need to hold up the parking brake while staged or will the car stay still? I've been using the parking brake so I don't red light.

95% of the tracks out there are flat, so no parking brake is needed. You will stay still after staging.

The wheel hop is common. Be very careful with that, as that what breaks things.

Do you have any driveline or powertrain mods? or are you stock?

It's all stock except for CAI and catback exhaust.

You need some suspension mods.....trailing arms, toe rods, and subframe bushings are all well-known to help control the dreaded wheel hop.

These do help for sure.

I will be honest my suspension is completely stock. The only thing i changed out were the rear axles. I put in some DSS 1400hp ones and have no wheel hop since then.

But thats only if you really plan on adding power down the road too.

I will be purchasing all the components that blazzin listed within the next month or so though as my goal was to run a 10 sec pass with stock suspension and rear end.

Excellent advice.....axles are very high on my priority list....unfortunately, my bank account disagrees completely!!!

haha yeah i know the feeling... i now have my wife hooked on making cars faster... so all funds now are going to her single turbo kit for her Jeep SRT8... but i am still gonna try and sneak in my suspension parts.

I had pretty siginificant issues with wheel hop until I got my trailing arms and toe rods. Since then I have barely had an issue, most days I don't even have a single bit of wheel hop at the track anymore.

I see that Apex sells a Pfadt kit with trailing arms and toe rods to help with elimination of the wheel hop that I am experiencing when speed shifting from 1st to 2nd. Anyone have these installed and how are they helping with wheel hop?

i have a L99 but after i did full blot ons and a tune i started to get bad wheel hop on my 1st to 2nd shift and slight wheel hop on my 2nd to 3rd shift... i just installed Pfadt trailing arms and toe rods along with pedders solid subframe bushings and the car fells way better but i wont be able to get back on the track until the 23rd... but im sure the wheel hop is gone!!!

I have that setup on mine and they work wonders at the track. I just need to upgrade the subframe bushings to complete the trifecta.
