UnderPulley Question

Does anyone have an under pulley installed? Which one? Has it affected the steering pump or AC at all? Ive seen a few threads here and there that say under pulleys are great, but affect the other components. I would hate to install one on the camaro and have the feel of the steering go to poop. My mazda 6 had an under pulley with no problems. Thanks!

You're A/C will take a hit, as it runs off of the same pulley.

Underdrive Pulley

Hi have the SLP pulley and i dont notice any difference in electric usage, but when i do idle for over 5-10 minutes i notice my voltmeter drops below 11 amps, I have a jannetty tune and im going to see about bumping the idle rpms from 550k stock i believe to like 700-750k, also i think there is a smaller alternator pulley you can put on to balance this out.

As in if you have the A/C blasting you will see a drop in your battery voltage.

Get the RX billet Alt overdrive pulley. Cures the issue.

Or if you're throwing in a cam at the same time bumping the idle speed ~150rpm will offset the 25% reduction

I think a 25% reduction is too much especially for these cars. I use an Innovators West 10% reduction damper on my Camaro and it works great!

Please feel free to call, email or PM me anytime with questions.

Incorrect.
Check out the Fluidampr 25% under drive pulley for the Camaro. The AC pulley is stock size. The Alt, PS and WP are under driven. I have seen and felt no adverse affects. Charging system and coolant temp is perfect.

One of the sponsors make one that doesnt reduce the size of the ac pulley only the operations pulley. I thought it was sweet

Yes I understand that Fluidampr's pulley (which just came out btw) retains the stock A/C pulley size. But it is the only pulley to do so as far as I know. So yes, if the OP buys that pulley brand than his A/C won't take a hit.

So what kinds of HP savings will you see with a 25% pulley? I saw the Fluidampr pully is about $200. Wondering if there is enough gain for the price.
