MagnaFlow Vs SLP LoudMouth II Vs LoudMouth Vs Straight Pipes.. NEED YOUR HELP !
Ok here is my problem im debating between 4 different exhaust setup's and dont know which one to go with ! I like the LoudMouth Sound the best but whats the difference between that and just a muffler delete and Straight pipe? If theres something Im not seeing in the picture please let me know because thats the only thing stopping me from the LoudMouth. Now Magna Flow I love their Competition Series Axle-Back but not really liking the 5 inch tips.. Again whats the difference between that and straight pipes ? Now the loudmouth II is the only one with some sort of actual muffler.. I really like the look of them underneath the car plus it doesn't just look like I could've just put straight pipes and got the same sound as MagnaFlow and LoudMouth.. PLEASE help me with my decision as I am completely stuck on what to get..
Here are some Vids Of Each: ^MagnaFlow ^Loudmouth I ^Loudmouth II ^Straight Pipes Last edited by Gnarlygianni; 04-28-2010 at 08:51 AM. Reason: Added Video |

Magnaflow Comp axle back and SLP LM I are the same as a muffler delete except that it will also come with different tips. I think the Magnaflow ones are 5". A little big for my taste but there are alot of people who like them.
If I were going to do an axle-back I would've probably gone with the SLP LM II. Not sure what straight pipes are supposed to be? I'm gussing a resonator delete and a muffler delete? I don't know about that one. I would at least put an X-Pipe in there. Thing is that it's going to come down to personal preference. What I think sounds good you might think sounds like crap. What I think is loud you might think is too quiet. For the money, I would tell you to consider the new Cherry Bomb cat-back. You can get it for $400 and sounds pretty good to me. Do a search.

I like the Cherry Bomb but Im not too fond of the overall look of the exhaust. But I really am leaning towards the LM II I like the Sound, Nice look, good gains. Those magnaflow tips are really throwing me off.

I agree the 5" tips are a little bit to big for me. I like the 4.5" tips.
Here is what I did and used the 4.5" Magnaflow tips. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64964 But....if I were going to stick with an axle-back I think I would go SLP LM II personally.

Any of the shorties shouldn't throw a code because the factory cats will be left alone. I would probably go with Doug Thorley shorties personally but JBA make some as well. I don't know that much about shorties because I'll be doing LTs once I'm ready to make the jump to doing a tune.

I heard there wasn't much gain on the shorties ? Is this true? What hp do you think ill get to the wheels with the doug Thorley Shorties, Loudmouth II, and CAI or Halltech Intake?
Also I see a lot of people voting for the MagnaFlow.. Those voting do you like the look of the 5 inch tips ? I feel thats just REALLY big but i will admit the sound is the best of all three. Those voting if you could post why you voted for whatever one that would be more help. Last edited by Gnarlygianni; 04-29-2010 at 08:22 AM. |

no difference between SLP LM 1, magnaflow comp series axle back, or straight pipe, except of course the tips.
IMO get a cat-back system. getting an axle-back isn't always good cuz your hacking up your stock exhaust that you might decide to re-install if you choose to sell it.

I just installed the SLP LMII this past weekend. I liked the look and deeper, slightly louder sound compared to stock.
