Any advice for a first timer in Manhattan NY?

I'm showing some of my paintings in Manhattan on thursday, and they are still wet. Therefor, I cannot ship them or fly with them.

My camaro is my only car, so I will be braving it out with her

Any advice? I've been to NY once before but never drove there.

I plan to stay in a hotel on the 28th around Hudson and Canal st.

How true. You would be better off renting a car or taking Amtrak. Many car lots are NOT self park. People could care less about you or you're car.

If you can you should park off the street in a lot if you can afford it. If you get in early you can catch and early bird special rate. If the hotel has parking take advantage of it.
I am assuming you are going to the gallery and dropping your paintings and then to the hotel? You are downtown near the holland tunnel. I am assuming thats how you are going in that will take you right up Canal or Hudson.

You need the proper equipment, look at it this way.
What would it cost you time&money if one your pieces of artwork are damaged.
Did alot of work with high end decorators, part of import group.
Usually was clients with high end stuff, I do not reccomend a camaro to transport anything like artwork.
Would deff park in a garage, my friend parked on a street in the city.
Someone probably drunk opened a cab door into his quarter panel.
He needed a 1k worth of work to fix it.
FYI, we live in the 5 Boros not the best idea.
Rent a large sedan, or hire someone professional.
It will go alot smoother, plus looks more professional.

i cant say anything as far as transporting your stuff, you got to do what you got to do.
As far as lower manhattan traffic is a bit heavy check to see what kind of parking arrangments your hotel has, for parking on the street it is mostly reserved for commercial trucks till after 7pm. as far as driving your car in the city i do it every day. 54,xxx miles and going strong a good friend of mine drives his lambo aventador in lower manhattan all the time and no damage or issues. just drive easy and dont get stressed out with traffic or cabs. the camaro will handle it just fine

Use bestparking.com and find a place near where you are staying. It shows you best rates by area.

All I can say is good luck. Where you are staying is a lot of construction and very little parking. I do construction in NYC so I'm telling you this first hand. Canal will be jammed during rush hours and no parking anywhere near it.
