Finally got my car dyno'd again after the long-tubes and cat-back were installed.

First is the baseline numbers from October of last year when my camaro was bone stock running 87 octane:

Dyno: Dynojet (Can't remember which model number it is but I do know it has a history of low readings)

Now with my upgrades this year:

Peak RW Horsepower: 249.28 hp
Peak RW Torque: 242.92 ft-lb

Not as much horsepower as I was hoping for, but compared to the stock numbers it is a good increase. The increase is about 30 hp and 45 ft-lb of torque at the rear wheels. Not sure exactly how to figure out what I'm making at the crank, but since my transmission and drivetrain is still stock as before, then if I take into account what the SAE rating is at the crank, then the efficiency of the driveline is 70.5% for horsepower and 71.22% for torque. Dividing my new numbers at the wheels by that, I should be getting about 353.2 hp and 341.3 ft-lb at the crank. Someone can correct me if I'm off on that.

The next thing I'm going to look at doing on this car is upgrading the torque converter and swapping out the open differential for a limited-slip and 3.73 gears before considering nitrous. I'll be able to get 1/4 mile times at the Texas Camaro Nationals in Sealy,Tx that's coming up in 2 weeks.

Almost forgot, it's a 2010 2LT/RS A6 with stock 20-inch wheels and Pirelli P-Zero Summer Tires.

If I remember correctly I think our member rolnslo dynoed at ARD a while back which use 248x and got the same low stock result around 225-230rwhp, but I think yours is the lowest I've ever seen a stock camaro dyno but what matter here the most is how much you have gained and the gain look really good Do you happen to have the graph from both of the runs so we can see how much gain there is off peak.

TexasCamaro, I think you can be happy with those numbers. Yeah they are not the best "for show" numbers because they seem low, but its obvious it is a low reading dyno. On a different dynojet you should be in the 270s or higher forsure with those mods.

35 - 40 HP gain with those mods would have been nicer, but 30 is still a good gain. I'd suspect your gain in the mid to mid-upper RPM range is higher than that.

Yeah I'm not really worried about. Definitely will be looking at upgrading the drive train next (torque converter, differential, gears and maybe drive shaft) and maybe a lighter set of wheels.

GM quotes numbers for the engine at the crank shaft. Dyno numbers are taken at the wheels. All the stuff in between absorbs power so the wheel HP is always less.

Also, different dynos read different HP ratings even on the same engine... even from day to day. You can only compare readings taken from the same dyno to check if your mods actually gained HP.

thanks bmore. my mods at the time: auto tyranny, injen cai, bbk lt's w/hi flow cats, ark n type II exhaust. still need to get on there since the tune, im really interested to see how much that pulls things together. i'll keep you posted.

It was a very hot day out and I had drove 75 miles to Vengeance Racing and the car was heat sunk. The crew at Vengeance was pleased with the performance seen with the high temps and the VR intake and how it still performed. Plus no fan was used during the runs. I was upset with the results at first but then realized it was some good pulls. Can't wait till the winter to do some more runs like my first pulls. I know I'll see way better number then! Can someone correct my numbers to see how it would of ran in the same temps as my first run?

Can't C me, if those numbers are not ASE corrected already you can look at the instruction I posted on how to calculate ASE numbers on the beginning of the page and see how it differs from stock run vs your latest run with VR since there's a huge temp difference.

You are the 2nd one that dynoed in lower with VR installed so I guess VR is just not dynoable because it surely does perform well on the street.

Sure doesn't seem like VR dynos well....but it sure feels good out on the road.
