Reverse locked out
Went to leave this morning and the car would not go over and into reverse (m6) goes thru all other fwd gears fine just had a turbo installed not sure if it's related car was 100% when I parked it the car doesn't show any codes

Disconnected the battery and it worked...what's that all about

There is a solenoid in the transmission that prevents you from accidentally putting the car in reverse while driving. For whatever reason the solenoid was active while your car was not moving and locking you out of reverse. Pinched wire from install?? Failing solenoid?? You will have to do a little testing, when you disconnected the battery it de-energized the solenoid allowing you to put the car in reverse again
