60' specialist step in side
my home town has been having a lil race 300'. they have had it twice now . this weekend is the 3rd one. they are doing it to see if ppl will show up and race and they plan on building a track next year. but anyways
what can i do to set up my car for this short run and do better? move weight to the back over the wheels or what. just lookin for a edge. had a few guys over there last time running there mouth . looking for any edge i can get. would straping the rear end down or anything like that be helpful in a short distance like that. i just barely get into 2nd. it dont matter how much work it will take i want to clean those guys out . i accually beat 2/3 of them last time all fox body cars. looking to take them all 3 this round.

305/35/18 et streets. pfadt trailing and toe rods. and bushings. got about 350 lbs out of the car. sway bar is off the front . cam bolton and spraying a 150 shot at 3800 progressed in . it done good last time but i need a that last little bit to beat that one guy. i think if the rear is squated down for more traction it will help . wont matter to much on the other end cause u dont get going to fast . just wondering if weight in the trunk will help or strap the back shocks down for a more solid rear .

When you say strap the rear shocks down, are you running adjustable shocks?

Converter choice?
Tire wise....I ran those at 20-21psi on a 1.57. Pretty much same suspension mods.

With manual transmission cars you need to control weight transfer, hence (for example) 4th gen guys running adjustable shocks and keeping the nose up. When the nose drops the weight transfers, and you can spin on the shift.
But to your question, a few 70 lb bags of sand should help.

im a m6 car , ya its a arm drop kinda thing.
ty john thats what i was wondering. if the weight would help cause there wont be no speed to this just maybe 60 mph or something like that never really looked at my speed but its just 300' no i was just gonna strap the back down somehow like a old bike and make it solid lol.

I used to run sandbags in my DD's in winter (now I have snow tires), and I could get a 70 lb bag of sand for $4 from Menards. I put 3 of them in my RWD TBSS and it hooked great.
