Borla Atak questions..

So the previous owner of my 2013 SS put on a magnaflow street series catback with an x pipe. It is too quiet for me, so I'm thinking about buying some borla atak mufflers, and leaving the rest of the magnaflow pipes on. Will there be a difference in sound when compared to a borla atak full catback? They are both just 2.5" pipes.

I have ATAK axel back.

Anything above 2000 RPM you have angry neighbors.

Surprisingly anything below 2000 RPM sounds stock but nothing is perfect right. I frequent a cars & coffee where any exhaust/engine revving is a big no no so know one knows how loud my car is.

I don't think you'll get the difference you're looking for; might be a bit louder but nothing that you'll be blown away by. I'd save that money for some headers and or high flow cats. You really gotta free up the entire system in order to get a nice sound out of these engines.(cold air intake, long tube headers; high flow cats, catback exhaust)

I bought the catback borla atak and I do have to say it is damn loud, but still nowhere near enough what I wanted.

^^^^ i have to completely agree with him that when compared to stock it sounds way better, but nothing of what i was wanting. If i had to truely buy one again I would get the corsa 3". since im already with borla im just going to do longtubes and offroad pipes.

If I could keep my warranty I'd go Solo High flow cats and Kooks LT. Pay to play I guess.

Pretty much, I just got sick of not hearing that v8 and just went for it. Real happy with the performance and the sound, but still want more. I guess a cam is next lol

Solo high flows do not require a tune so you won't void any warranty with them and they hook right up to the stock manifolds. LTs have their own high flow cats that you need to get (or off-road connection pipes) and Solo high flow cats won't connect to any LT header.

Oh okay. I was actually about to buy some Solo's, but was told by a shop owner they still tend to through codes, especially on 2013+ models. Otherwise I'd buy some, there's a set for sale in members classified for $375

I have a 2013 with jba and vibrant extenders with small jet. I'm only at 200 miles after install. It seems like the code pops up around 300-500 only time will tell.

Why is revving a big no? I thought it would be the opposite at a car event?

I guess because there are other people around who could care less about Camaro's and would probably file a complaint and call the cops saying that these mean and crazy Camaro people are the Devil and disturbing the peace!

Even if you do throw a code it doesn't harm anything since the code is just telling you your cats aren't working to factory specs. A lot of people throw extenders on the O2 sensor to bring it out of the exhaust flow more and that usually keeps the code from showing up.
