I took my car into the dealer and asked them to look at my front struts as they are making a knocking noise when I go over bumps. I was told this is normal for the v6.

When my old lumina sounded like that the struts were loose...... I'm not to happy, they sound cheap! Anyone have the same issue?

Many Camaros have that issue. Nothing amiss. I found if I jacked mine up so that the wheels hung free, after letting it down, it stopped for awhile, then came back.

had the same problem with my tahoe. except it was my rear passenger that kept making a noise when i went over bumps. the dealer replaced whatever the problem was and i havent had a problem since then.

It is not normal. I have a 2011 2LT and go over many speed bumps each day, plus winter pot holes. No noise at all.

can you better describe this noise? im having a similar problem and i also have a 2lt.

You might try this link under the warranty and problem topics. GM maintains it is normal, meaning if your car does it they probably won't do anything about it. It is still unacceptable, and others are still trying to get them to do come up with a fix. IMO....if it is normal, then all Camaros should make the noise, but not all do.

Check the torque settings on them strut mount bolts. Had same issue and BAM! Top nut broke off.

Mine makes a sound over bumps different then any vehicle I have seen, but everything is ok....

It is like a knock, not once but twice when I go over a bump at slow speeds.
In my other car it was an issue as the bolts were loose.... I do have a feeling this dealer is all talk and no action now that I have bought my car.

ask the dealer to go for a test drive in one of theirs on the lot and see if it makes the same noise

i dont think it is limited to just v6's. mine does that also. it doesn't happen very often but i do occasionally hear it when im backing out of my driveway.

I dont recall mine doing it when stock, and I drive on some bumpy roads. After the stiffer springs were put in mine will make a noise like that but natural and only on a good bump
