The Corvette would still (probably) hold a handling advantage since its smaller & lighter so a Camaro would need to hold a decent advantage in power to weight to beat it around a track.

beat a z06? I was referring to the 7:41 lap time. I don't expect a stock z28 to beat a current or recent z06. but to beat a 7:41 I could see what I wrote.

When I made that post I was unaware of the ZL1s 'ring time. But I did remember the Z06 posting a 7:41 or 7:42 when it debuted. So when I saw a question about beating a 7:41 I assumed it was in reference to the Z06. I now retract my earlier post

Pedders Suspension A 7:41 is an outstanding time and right about what we would have expected. Lower it an inch, add more front rubber and the ZL1 is seconds faster. But we want to be 22 seconds faster

The ZL1 is an AWESOME machine. The ZR1 AWESOMENESS on Steroids To come close to a ZR1 I want more front rubber, more power, more brakes, a lower CG, more aggressive sways, Supercar coilovers and full Pedders bushes. I want it lighter and better balanced. The power has to be all motor. Normally apsirated power and eye popping torque.say 681 HP @ 6800 RPM, and 588 LB / FT @ 5600 RPM on the engine dyno would be nice if I were just pulling numbers out of the air
