Well I've had enough..
I am tired of dealing with the P.O.S. transmission in my V6 and GM obviously isn't ever going to do anything to fix it so I have decided to sell it and get an SS. I'm just curious to how many of you have done the same and how do you like the SS? Do any of you regret getting another camaro?

Here we go again. I owned an LT for about a month, traded it for an SS and have never looked back. Good luck!

Never had a LT but I decided at the last minute of purchase to get an SS and I am so glad I did. The SS has been a great car so far.
I notice on the M6 trans its very temperature sensitive. These transmissions seem to work the best when fully warmed up. The dealer has told me this as well. They say " Both engine and transmissions need to be fully warmed up before the various noises and gremlins go away." The one thing I can say is if you drive these cars hard they are quiet and smooth but if you drive easy they feel loose and clunky. Just my opinion, no regrets though! |

I drove an SS earlier today and the difference between it and my V6 was like night and day. The SS was much more fun to drive and the difference in power was crazy! It seems like everyone with an SS loves their car and a lot of people with the V6 hate theirs because of the crappy transmission. I love my car but I can't deal with the transmission anymore and I know one day the warranty will run out then I'll really be screwed. Now I just have to sell mine and knowing my luck nobody will buy it... :(

The great google god says if you got the manual in your v8 you are going to have exact same issues.

If I try to shift quickly into 2nd over 5500 rpm it grinds and sometimes it won't even go into gear. And sometimes when I stop I can't get it to go into first gear I have to mess with it to get it into gear.

"Go big of go home"
Something like that I believe I read somewhere long ago.But really a SS auto is the only way to go.Too many problems with the 6 manuals if you ask me.You want to drive and enjoy it.I wanted to get the manual but I wanted my wife too drive it occasionally.Lucky for me I got the auto, secondly she has been afraid to drive it.So I would say I am way ahead. If your not happy admit your mistake and trade her off or sale it and get what you really want. You wont be disappointed.

I've got ZERO complaints about my trade. It cost me a bit to do the swap but it was significantly cheaper than having to buy that first replacement AY6 after my power train warranty was up. If you can afford it, make the swap. At least with the V8, you'll have other options from the aftermarket if your stock trans gives up. No options with the V6.
