Piece of crap Mustang
I just got back from a Thanksgiving jaunt to visit family. I rented a car from company X and they gave me a mustang convertible. What a piece of junk. The seats were the most uncomfortable of any car I have driven or rode in. The suspension was rock hard, and because of it it had so many sqeeks and rattles. It only had 27K miles on it. The back seat was so cramped. I sure hope the Camaro has better seats than this piece of s*&^. Looks aren't everything. Why can't they put decent foam in seats. The only thing worse are airline seats. Fbodfather if you can put a word in, make the seats comfortable. After all we do want to cruise these things.

If the new Malibu is any indication, GM has learned how to make a good comfortable seat. Early G8 reviews indicate that Zeta is pretty solid with good suspension, so no worries I think.

I never thought I'd defend the Mustang, , but it's possible the "faults" you observed, re; squeaks; rattles; etc., are a result of it being a rental car. The stories I've heard of how people abuse rentals.... .
That being said, having driven my sister's Mustang, (a convertible) it does have quite a bit of cowl shake, as well as a few rattles. There is just a lot less structural integrity in most 'verts compared to fixed roof vehicles. I do agree that the rear seats are lacking. But in all honesty, when you consider the bodystyle, ('vert.), rear seat room will never accomodate the average adult. And therefore the seat "quality" suffers as well. |

one thing people need to know when concidering buying a "muscle car", the back seats are ,like you said,"lacking". i am not buying the camaro expecting to put people in the back. i believe the seats are only there for insurance reasons.

People really do abuse rental cars.. They have them for only a few days and will never see them again, so normally people run the crap out of them.

Yeah, especially if it's a muscle car. Now's your chance to do all the things that you'd be afraid to do in your own car (i.e. burnouts, power shifting, red-lining over and over, etc.)

Your rental was also a convertible which means you are guaranteed to have less space in the rear seat. There has to be room for the top and mechanics to make it go up and down somewhere.
