hey Matt,
Are you still misting with a DS since employing that coating/sealant combo? What effect to the hydrophobic properties are you seeing if any when using a DS in the drying phase. In these first few months after application, I have found there is so little water on the car after a sheeting rinse that my fine mist of Adams is just for peace of mind.

The detail spray at that point is purely to add some lube to the drying process, you're absolutely right. The coating is so hydrophobic already there isn't much ds can do for you.

I was under the impression that such a compound is reserved for serious paint correction, but once the paint is maintained, then all you need if a mild polish. Since I'm assuming your paint was already well maintained and mostly defect free, I'm curious as to why you would use Menzerna's most abrasive polish?

Fg400 on a finishing pad is not super aggressive. My paint was very well maintained but certainly had some swirls. It hadn't been polished in probably close to 2 years.

The thing that makes FG400 so damn good is how versatile it is. Depending on your pad and technique it can be used to remove some seriously nasty swirls, or to clean up light swirls as well.
