Wife Drives Camaro - First Time
OMG, am I crazy? I just gave my Camaro keys to my wife. She wanted to attend the church meeting tonight. Her car, a Scion TC is on loan to our youngest daughter whose Ford Explorer stopped running. My wife has totaled two cars, numerous dents, door dings, curbing....etc....man, I must be crazy....God please help me!!! I love her but, she drives like sh%@....
She should be home around 10 or 11PM CST....I'll keep you posted on the outcome....I'm on pins and needles and I don't have any fingernails left to chew....arghhhhhhh!!! How many of you let your spouse or friends drive your Camaro??? |

I let my girlfriend drive my car a couple of times, but now she hates it because of how meticulous I am with my car. She says the Camaro has too many rules, she also hates it when I spend copious amounts of time staring at/working on my baby, she really hates it when I call my car “baby”, ha ha, silly women.

My wife drove mine this weekend. I had my final suspension upgrades completed last week so we took it out for a spin. We parked in a grocery store parking lot and traded places.
She seemed apprehensive because she hasn't driven a manual in almost 20 years. I said "Don't worry, you can't hurt it". She whipped out of the parking lot pulling about .75 G's on to the highway and surprised the heck out of me. I said "Well maybe you can hurt it". She just laughed and kept going. |

When I first meet my wife. I had just bought a 1978 Z-28 Black on Black. 4 speed. It was awesome and I loved that car. Well I tried to teach her to drive a manual. But she just could not figure it out. She'd either dump the clutch or smoke it... And with my expert coaching. She finally gave up. (Bad move on my part) You see, A little over a year later. We got married. Well, remember the 4 speed she could not master. Now that were married. I had to sell it. (not practical for a family car, she said!) And with the baby coming, we'll need a minivan. "WHAT" , the hell is going on... What baby? Your going to be a father she said. So, I sold the Z and became the all american dad. (FAST FORWARD) 32 years later. I decided it was time for me to get a new car. It would be my first new car since 1978. You see. I always got the junkers, while the wife and kids needed the new car... (Can't have it breaking down with the wife and kids in the car). But now. all the kids are married and have moved out. "YES!" And a new 2010 Camaro was exactly what I need to help me thru my mid-life crisis... So when I decided to purchase the Camaro. I bought the 2SS LS3. (remember, the wife can't drive a stick. lol...) And my camaro, although not a Z. Its mine all mine! And she'll never ask for the key.
Don't feel bad for here because she doesn't get to drive the Camaro. She's tooling around in her 300C. Life has come full circle... And life is good!

Lending people money or vehicles are some of the easiest ways to lose a relationship or friendship with someone. Unless it's a life or death emergency, nobody will drive my vehicles.

I guess I am spoiled. My wife babies our new Camaro as well as my truck. She won't drive any of my older vehicles as she is afraid she might hurt them. Heck, I am the one that tears stuff up!!!!
