Dilemma
First post here. I currently have a '12 2SS, which I love and have been gradually doing mods to but have always desired the 1LE. I have the chance to pick up a '14 1LE but I'd be taking a $7500 loss on my current Camaro. I figure I'd have 9k modding my '12 to the same level so should I pull the trigger on the '14?

Well if your gonna take a $7500 hit, and it would cost you $9000 to upgrade. I think the $1500 is a drop in the bucket to starting a payment book all over again. The 2014 is going to cost a lot more in the long run. So my honest opinion.... HELL TO THE NO!!

Thats a big hit, I love my 1LE I just dont know if I even love it that much. I had 6 years for a depreciation of 20k+ lost with 90k in miles on my old truck and that was a hard one to take to.

So if you wait another year then don't over mod your SS unless they are fully reusable and something you'd still want on the 1LE.

Taking a loss is always difficult to swallow but it's really about what you want and what you're willing to do to have it. You will lose $ either way, continuing to mod a 12Ss is a losing proposition from a financial standpoint and buying another depreciating asset, a 2014 1LE, is also a losing proposition.
It's about the enjoyment you get from the car, whichever one it turns out to be, just don't do something you can't afford - there will always be more cars! |

Thanks for the input. I know eventually ill catch up on depreciation, just hope it's not 3 years down the road. I track my car and it would be nice to have the 1le. Doing mods to my current car doesn't help my situation any if I'm looking at a new car in a year or two. Just sucks when I know there's something out there that's designed for the track.
