ZL1 Fog Lights

So I was looking at this photo and noticed that the Fog Projectors are a Yellow Light as apposed to a nice Blue/White comparable to that of the headlamps. Does anyone think we will be able to put different HID bulbs in it? I know the CTS-V has them but I can't find anything about it.

You will definitely be able to trade out for HIDs...The bulb type is the simply unknown at this time...

the fog lights are halogen bulbs... hids dont come factory in the fogs. and u could remove the bulb and add a hid kit there as soon as u find out the bulb size...

You understand there are four lights in the housing right? A set of DRL's like the SS currently has and a set of Projectors like those in the Headlight. Right?

I'm quite aware of the fact that they are not HID bulbs, anyone with a brain could tell you that.

You can always run a 5000k LED DRL as a drop in solution to the halogens and you will never have to replace the bulbs or add an HID kit.

As for the fogs, HID kit and never look back!

For those of us, like me, who have no idea how to do this, would you mind expounding on what this entails?

LED bulb swap similar to what many are doing on SS's and LTs for their Daytime Running Lamps. LEDs are considered by some to be a lifetime product.

On the ZL1...I imagine there's going to be some removing of panels...maybe just the front wheel well...to access the bulb in the back.

Thank you, about how much would bulb replacements cost?

Just using a popular vendor around here, LED DRL bulb replacements for the LT/SS seem to be about $99.00 before taxes and shipping. It alters the light to become much more white and vibrant than regular 'ole halogens.

I swapped out my DRL's on my SS for Plasma LEDs - my avatar shows the different color but this is a bigger version of that pic so you can see the whiter color

Cost $99 and looks a million times better than the horrible yellow stock color - I will be taking my LEDs out to put in my ZL1 for sure!!

It took a few minutes install on the SS - just a matter of unscrewing the plastic panel in the wheel well - hopefully the ZL1 will be just as easy!

As everyone has already stated, it's a simple swap (pending removal process difference on ZL1)

Here is a photo of a 9006 bulbs type LED bulb

Here is a typical halogen 9006 bulb

It will be an easy direct replacement...
