I have a 1LT RY and have not regretted getting the V6 for one minute. PLENTY of HP for me. Still has plenty to get a ticket thats for sure! It has the same AWE factor when you look at em if you can take your eyes off it. Great on insurance and use the regular unleaded instead of the hi octane for the SS. I have not heard a person regret it yet!

Nothing, 'cept it doesn't sound like a V-8. That's what the radio is for.

The V6 is loads of fun and it's practical. Plenty of savings from the price of the car, to the insurance rates, to the gas money. Also for less than the price of a base 1SS you can get a fully loaded 2LT/RS which I think is pretty neat. Go out and test drive one and see if it's right for you, because in the end it's what you think that counts.

I think all of us V6 owners will say the same thing. Sure, we would love a V8, with it's power and beautiful engine note, but we love our cars just the same. The Camaro V6 is an absolute gem.

2LT here, plenty for me. You need to ask what your expectations are, is 14.4 in the 1/4 fast enough, 0-60 in 5.9 seconds enough? Do you need the v-8 rumble?
The LLT meets my needs. |

Dare, for staters, WELCOME to the forum, take a load off, pop a cold one, and hold on for a nice ride. A number of the guys have said it already, "what do YOU want out of the car". I have a 2LT/RS, I test drove one first, and I have another car that has the same engine in it.......and it was/is more power than I need. My first camaro had a V8 (2nd Gen) and it had about 1/2 the HP....and I was able to get into a LOT of trouble in it...lol. With 305 HP, I can get into almost twice as much trouble!!

firestone-ss....I think you may need to take a look at my V6 exhaust sticky thread. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33104 There are lots of exhausts listed there...so as long as you make the effort to listen to the different exhausts from top to bottom (the ones towards the top are the earlier set ups) you will find something you like. If you say you don't like ALL of them..well then your likely just S.O.L. (but there are more exhausts coming forsure!)
I have a 1LT/RS auto with the CC package and BA sound. I love it. It has enough go power to make me happy and get me into as much trouble as my heart desires. But I'm also not the kind've person that wants to sit there and burn the tires off either. To get all these features and looks in an SS I would've had to spend another 6 grand or so to get there...and I could have...but in the end opted not to. Now I have payments that I can easily manage and still a car that has proven to be able to run the 1/4 in mid to low 14s and the 0 - 60 in 6 seconds or less, and with a few light mods guys are pushing near high 13's for the 1/4 and mid to low 5's for the 0 - 60. Sure, I plan to do a few mods to make my car a tad quicker and more responsive, but ya know what....even if I had the firebreathing SS I'd be doing the same thing. I know I would....so no real money saved in the mods department by simply getting the SS in the first place. So yes....very happy with my Camaro V6

I owned an '86 Camaro- Berlinetta Edition with a V8- This was a fast car. I currently own a 2LT and I can say this is plenty of car. I had the opportunity to test drive an SS two times before I got my car. I thought I may have buyers remorse, expecting to be disappointed by the V6 performance..... I am not. Once again this V6 is more than enough for me. I believe this car is faster than the V8 I owned in '86.

I could have gotten a 1SS or a loaded 2LT RS and I chose the V-6 and don't regret it in the least bit! It is plenty fast and the added RS package is definitely worth it!

No remorse here... Been there done that with the V8's .... To get the same trim level I have now in a V8 would have been 10K more. I don't go to the track, and the typical speed limit around here is 45 .... Seemed a no brainier if you ask me !!!

I love my 2LT/RS. If you are going to get an LT GET THE RS PACKAGE! It's a must. I wouldnt trade mine in for an SS. The SS is a beutiful car, but for me the 2LT is perfect for what I want it too. and dont let the V6 engine fool you, Its quick! Sure the V8 will beat it everyday of the week but when your not racing the 29MPG highway is NICE!
