If you would like to get your hands on the 2010 Chevy Camaro SS, then you will have to until next year. However; you did have a chance to own one before anyone else, as one was up for auction on eBay.
The fundraiser was for the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, the 2010 Chevy Camaro SS sold for $73,000, that’s a lot more that the announced price of $30,995 when the car goes on sale in 2009. The unnamed winning bidder will get to choose the color as well as choose some extra equipment to be installed at the factory. The upcoming 2010 Chevy Camaro SS for General Motors comes with a V8 engine and a six-speed manual transmission, to add to that race car sporty feel. There is to be a less powerful version, the V6 LS and has a starting price of $22,995. http://www.product-reviews.net/2008/...73000-on-ebay/

that's just stupid, unless it's going to be a collector's item. but still, why pay that much like seriously.

Ok, now I'm totally confused....You mean we ALL have to wait until next year to get a Camaro SS or just those that didn't preorder? I'm probably repeating myself for the umteenth time, but if I was allocation 7 of 15 at my dealership and placed the order the first week of January 2009, am I also screwed until next year? I'm so done with waiting for this car already. The hype is going to wear off before I even get to see one in person and I'll want something different at that point....or drop an 8 cylinder and manual tranny in my 1998 Camaro Convertible R/S. So many conflicting reports. I hate this.

If you don't want it, one of us will gladly take your place in line. GM will make lots of these. They will sell very quickly. If you are 7th, then you need to take some responsibility for not being the 1st to your dealer. It could be bad luck or that you waited too long. Either way, you didn't see your dealer in time to be 1st. Deal with it. Some of us don't have money right now and have to wait till 2011 to get it, and some of us—this guy—have to drive ugly wagons that they can't stand anymore until they can afford the car they want. Some of us—me, again—have to pay for a wedding and a move up to Illinois before getting what we've been waiting to buy since 2006. Some of us have to make sacrifices. Your sacrifice can be that you waited a couple more months. Is that really so bad? Let's say that it is so bad. You go out and get a Mustang GT and love your new American pony car. When the rest of us see you at the track, we'll be delighted to line up next to the guy who backed out of what so many of us consider a dream car for a car that seriously underperforms when compared to the competition. This isn't directed at you, specifically. This post is directed at everyone who has complained that a month is too long when 3 years wasn't too long in 2006. What happened to being grateful that this car is coming out at all? Let's get back to that attitude. In short, you aren't screwed until next year, but I think you should suck it up if you were because most of us will be waiting until at least next year, envious that guys who did get one between March and December will be enjoying their cars while we can't wait to dump ours.

Nah dude, I understand completely. if I have to wait until October after being #7 of say, 15 at my dealership, that would suck, but I'd do it. It would be really horrible if I had to wait until next year to get one. Guess that's why I'm upset.
I would rather not buy any muscle car if I can't have the Camaro I wanted. I made some sacrifices already in my budget to afford the best Camaro possible, but it wasn't just that. It was the non-stop waiting, dealerships knowing nothing about what was going on. Some said the Camaro Convertible was completely dead in the water. That's why I hesitated. I got the phone call on October 13th, but I said I was waiting for the Camaro Convertible and never heard back from the dealer. Wasn't until Car and Driver mentioned that the Convertibles were off the board indefinitely sometime in November that I was forced to change the convertible to a coupe, and now...More sacrifices and more waiting. Tired.....tired of it all. It is said how much I love my Camaro and I love the new Gen 5, but all I can say is that I'm tired and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. |

Waiting sucks. We have waited a long time already. 30 or 60 more DAYS will not make a difference. I would prefer to take ownership of my beast in the spring or early summer, to enjoy the better weather. Middle to late summer isn't a deal breaker. But if it is close to October or November....I will change my order to be able to take delivery in the spring. I don't see a huge need to stick the car in the garage once I get it.
BUT I am 3rd out of 18 with a 2ss and a v6 in front of me. I should be good by say May 21 |
