Is it smart to install before broken in?

I am getting these items installed:

- Kooks 1 7/8" long tubes
-Kooks HFC
- Kooks 3" Cat back
- Cold Air Inductions CAI
- Dyno Tuned at Jannetty Racing

My car only has 750 miles on it. Sincre I just traded in my LT for this. I have an appointment this friday and I am not sure if I should push it off a little bit. Seeing as if my car is tuned before its fully broken in?

Your voiding the warranty. So I guess it doesn't matter. But I would break my car in more. Just for the simple fact that they are going to take it to 6k on the dyno. But that is me. If your worried ask Ted.

Technically your warranty is still intact even if you're modded. GM still has to prove the mod caused the part to break.
Many service managers will tell you your warranty is void if you tune your car, but that's really not true.

Just yesterday I was reading a thread where a Camaro5 member won a case agaist GM over his busted output shaft and transmission repacement. He has a ton of mods and his car is tuned.

He proved (TSB reports) that GM knew there was a defect with some of the output shafts. So even though he was modded and tuned, GM lost the case.

So just because you are modded and tuned, doesn't necessarily mean your warranty is gone.

Sounds good to me. Definitely

But now back to the broken in part. And how many miles is your guys opinion on what the speedometer should read before it goes on.

Break in should be complete by 1500 miles, best advice was above "Ask Ted". He won't steer you wrong.

Dyno is a great place to break a car in safely. You can load it up good to seat the rings without breaking any laws.

I know several guys that started modding their car from day 1. I started modding my car within the first month (and got my car tuned). I had my car on the dyno and was racing it soon after getting it.

That's just my thing. I break my cars in hard and they've proved to be fast and reliable cars.(LT1 z28, 2 LS1 z28, 2 LS2 GTOs, L99 Camaro).

But you could drive around for a few more weeks and put a few more mile on your car if your worried.

At 750 miles you're engine should be damn near broken in...I put my Long Tubes, Exhaust, and Intake on with 1100 miles and didn't think twice...

Personally I would wait until 1,500 to get it tuned but the rest of the mods are fine.

My reasoning is, I wouldn't want to get it tuned and then after break in was finished have to go back and have it adjusted because now the tune is off a little. I just don't know enough about tuning to say if break in is a factor so if it was my car I would play it safe than sorry.

Now if Ted says that break in won't effect the tune, then go for it.

I'm hoping Ted or someone fill JRE will find this. I am going to wait to call them because I am still waiting for one part to come in as well.

Honestly..There are people who build cars that start off with all this stuff from day one. But if you want to play it safe.. 500 miles.
