In the second pic I posted you can see the cast piece on the left exhaust pipe.

I believe (maybe I'm wrong) that this is controlled by a butterfly of some kind.

IE that the exhaust normally flows like this

back pipe-muffler-right tailpipe (in picture)

With butterfly open (higher RPM's)

back pipe-no muffler(pipe passes directly thru muffler)-left tailpipe

Hope this clarifies this, any more insight may be beneficial from an actual owner!

I hope someone with the dual mode on a V6 posts this soon. I can't wait to hear it.

Sound Clip!

<iframe width="960" height="720" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/_kyD4DmInkI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Dual mode exhaust on my 2013 2LT MT. Light takeoff (it's raining), then heavy throttle from 20 MPH plus.

This exhaust is relatively quiet when your not on it, but boy does it sound good when you are. A good choice, and my neighbors wont mid it.

Very cool! Sounds pretty good from the inside.

Can you please get us some outside vids??

Sounds pretty damn good. It would be awesome if you could post more videos of idle, and takeoff from outside. I'm kinda leaning towards getting this for my 2012 but want to hear more first

I can't believe this thread hasn't taken off a bit more than this. Lots of people wanted to hear this exhaust.

Well I'm curious to how it works.

I understand how it changes the sound of the exhaust...the mechanics of it so to speak.

What I want to know more about is, is it controlled via a simple value with a spring that opens after enough exhaust pressure...or it is controlled electronically? It seems to me, that on the SS version, that the valves are opened (or at least slightly) at certain times like on start up and at idle to allow for a muscular sound, then closed at cruising speeds, and then obviously opened again when the car is being driven more aggressively.

If it is more than just springs and needs an electronic controller, that makes me think the exhaust is not fully compatible for the 2010 - 2012 cars....which would be a dissapointment.
