Good question. I bet it's possible. I'll get committed though...

Especially when the discussion is worded so that it makes sense...

I'm happy with my power curve and I think most would say its a wild cam for a DD 23x-25x 113 LSA with .62x-.62x lift

check my sig for dyno chart

Yep that's purdy. Tough to beat Lethal's tabletop huh? I keep looking... and I've got a few places I watch for charts and new stuff, but nothing ever convinces me to not get the cam from Lethal.

we did the Kaotik cam on a bolt ons only car with 3.91 gears and 22 inch tires and still put down just over 480 RWHP. Loved it. Drove smooth

Pick a cam for you and your car. Don't fall into the online dyno war thread.

Now as for what is a big cam as to what is a mild cam. I would say that is more up to the owner than anything. Just like drivablity it changes to each owner. Some might feel a stock ZL1 is to aggressive for a daily driver, while others would be fine going back and forth to work in a Top Fuel Dragster

Try and talk to guys that have something similar to what you are wanting to do. Figure out what RPM range you keep the car in, and ultimately what you want to do with the car.

Sit down with a few different tuners and see what they have to offer and what kind of package or parts they can put together for you. I know it is far to easy to fall into the Stage I, II, III...what ever package but figure out what is right for you.

As with anything else, it is about the entire combo!
This is sage advice. The part about not getting hung up on big dyno numbers is probably the best part of it. How many people here have seen 1000hp Supras run 12.5@127MPH? Dynos are a tool for tuning, performance is measured in the real world by how the car runs and drives.

My choice is going to be one of the off the shelf grinds that most would consider a "baby cam". My car is just too nice to be bucking and surging as I cruise around town. IfI wanted an all out street beast I would have picked up an older Corvette or a 4th Gen stripper car for way less than what I spent on my 5th Gen 2SS/RS with all the creature comforts, and built one. I have been doing my research and while they don't give the eye poping peak number the cams I am looking at do have the idle, drivability and performance that I want. Also looking at the specs on the cam I also figure it will work well with Nitrous so I can get power boost anytime I want by spraying it. Later on I plan on adding port and polished heads for more power as well. If you do your combo right, and set the chasis up correctly to use the power you can have it all performance wise.

What off the shelf Cams have you seen that fit what you are looking for? I think you and I have very similar goals in that I love the way a cam sounds and appreciate the added performace, but not at the risk of driveability.....willing to sacrtafice a little of both in other words in order to maintain the smooth driveability.

While that is a solid course of action too... there is a huge difference between "another older built 4th gen" and a nasty brand new car. There are tons of older cars that have been made to go fast. The new ones are rare.

Just another perspective.
