I test drove the 535i BMW with the sport pack... had paddle shifters... i just couldnt get adjusted to them.. ..so i didnt get it in my BMW.. i did have a sport mode drive without shifters... but it wasnt a smooth ride... felt like someone that didnt drive manual very well. Soo... thats part of the reason i order manual in my camaro. My vette was manual... i prefer this over paddle shifters. BUT i'm glad some people DO like paddle shifters... people with automatic should have fun too!

I love the paddle shifting, use it all the time. It is great to have control over the gears for accelerating and decelerating, especially downshifting for braking, that's cool.

So if you don't shift in M mode and just press the gas it's like over drive? In my altima you have to shift or it stays in gear. My cgm 2lt rs is at 3400 and I want to know what's best for evey day driving A or M

Basically. It just stays in gear longer than in auto mode but is still sluggish compared to shifting yourself. I suppose they did that so people who dont know what they are doing wont blow their engine up For everyday driving, keep it in auto mode if you dont like shifting yourself.

I wouldn't use M for everyday driving, just a waste of gas IMO

I love tap shifters! Whenever I want to have a little fun, I tap shift. I also drive in M all the time. I never drive in D.

Yeah, it really chews up the fuel, but I haven't had it in D since I drove it off the lot.

TAPshift saves gas for me...I've bumped my mpg's up by 2. I'm only at 800 rpm/6th gear on roads with around a 40 mph speed limit. And maybe 1700 rpm on the highway at about 75 mph

I use the tap shift "almost" every time I drive. I also use my "NOWEEDS DIVERTERS" almost every time. I am constaintly working these for my favor! When I need/choose to.....I close my diverters and place the shifter in drive. I can go from brut force to a sleek machine by using these options to work for me! Some have thought I had a manual shift from the sounds of the way I use the tapshift! Works for me!
