UPDATE

The new torque converter is in, but is causing the tranny to heat up quick. It jumps to 200 degrees fast, and its been in the 50s in Houston. Anyone else have had this happen?

yeah...circleD won't let their bad boy triples go in without a cooler. I've got a nice bar and plate custom one with AN fittings that GPI did for me. I dig it. It never gets above stock temps if not cooler than stock. And its way more stall than you have.

This is on a 70* day mid traffic on a 3600 Circle-D with a 40K trans cooler

How cold is too cold? Tranny fluid, like engine oil NEEDS to be in a certain temp range.

If I drive for 30min or more it'll stay around 145*. I drove 5hrs to GPI from Dallas and the most it got to was 170*

I have the ADM Trans cooler and my temps run 170ish in summer!

Don't mean to jack your tread . I'm running a yank 3600 without a cooler I'm in the 180s all the time. So how hot is to hot?
