I was doing a 1-2 powershift. I have had this at the track earlier this year and would say that the track experience with the wheel hop was much more abusive then my powershift.

Here are a couple of videos to show the type of stress that stock components have. The second video is to show how much deflection was removed from the axle with upgraded trailing arms and toe links.

sorry to revive an old thread, but I think I might have broken one of my half shafts today. I experienced lots of wheel hop followed by lots of knocking. My question is do lowering springs have ANYTHING to do related to this type of problem? I am afraid my dealer will try to blame it on my springs to avoid warranty....

the angle the axle sits at does make a difference. However, since many people have broken theirs already they may look more favorably at warranting the parts. You could however put factory parts back on then bring it/tow it in.

The angle should not really effect the strength of the axle to a point where it would be a determining factor on breakage, at an extreme angle there might be an issue but lowering a car up to 2" would only change the angle a degree or two and in our testing not enough to cause more of a failure than the stock angle. the dealer may not have our view but that is there call.

Looking at this thread, It has been almost a year since I broke my axle shaft. I bought a set from the Driveshaft Shop and just need to find the time and put them in.
