8L90 Upgrades - What's available so far?

Shift kits, torque converters, etc... I don't see many references to owners finding any improvements for the 8L90 yet. Is it still too new? Are the computers too controlling and making these upgrades costly?

Would love to hear more about this from anyone with experience so far.

Thanks.

Circle D offers some tq converter options. There are no internals yet to my knowledge and honeslty not needed at least below 1000-1200 hp from what Ive seen.

Let us know if we can help get you a circle d setup.

Shift kits are still available for computer controlled transmissions, but they aren't just a pressure plate or drill guide anymore like the old B&M stuff.

I sent Circle D and a couple of other companies an email about a convertor. Its a factory stall that is modded to stall higher. I want a 10inch aftermarket stall. They said it should be coming out in a few months or so.

circle d modifies the oem converter, however there is hardly any tables available yet to tune the a8 so we do not recommend doing a converter. It can work and work "ok" but still not right imo.

The 8L90 is officially rated to 650HP/650TQ.

Is this accurate? Is it possible to withstand more without modifications?
