Hey. Its a bit of a pain, but all it takes is a good tug on the shield to rip it off its tack welds. I did this for mine. Just take it to a local shop that has a scissor lift(you need some tugging and pulling/ cutting room. The "heat shields" are nothing but turkey pans you get for thanksgiving, cheap material until you get to the center above where your resonators go and it has some fiberous material under the heat shield. but all this ended up being for no reason lol. the real rattle was at the ball and socket that connects the headers to the high flow cats make sure those are nice and tight as well. good luck.

i got the one behind the engine on passenger side out, but that wasn't what was rattling. the one that goes up and over the trans is what's making the noise. there arent any fasteners holding that one up behind the trans, is there? this rattling has to stop, it makes the car sound ghetto-rigged

Yeah man, I ripped it off with leather gloves on. There are some bolts holding into place but you pull hard enough you right the metal sheet right off around the bolts. It takes 15-30 mins of man power when its on a nice hydraulic lift. I couldn't do it on my jack stands. Elbows kept smacking the ground.
