Love that pic. As for the post, my car is "super" enough for me, and will only get faster.

The definition of a "Super Car" is as follows:
400+ horsepower, greater braking/handling than average car and 20+ MPG on highway at 65 MPH. My ZL1 meets these minimun criteria.

Is the Hellcat a supercar, is the GT500 a supercar? I consider them a highend car, the same as our ZL1's, but not a supercar. Can they hang with the supercar's, in some instances yes but it still does not make them a supercar.
My personal opinon of what makes a car a supercar is the price tag. ($100K+) |

I'd say that the ZL1, Hellcat, and GT500 are supercar performers (more or less) without the snooty supercar "cachet" (gotta use a snobby-sounding word here).
Makes it a win-win, no? Norm |

I only bought my ZL1 because of the price break I got. The 20% off was too good to pass up given the other cars I was considering. The ZL1 was within 5k of other rides that I consider to be lesser cars, so I pulled the trigger. That said, however, I never would have considered a ZL1 at or anywhere near it's MSRP. I guess its a car with super-car-ish performance, without a super-car price tag. I think the price is part and parcel of the definition of a super-car.

European car's they build performance car's.
Thank God GM doesn't have their act together. The salesman don't know the car's to build value. Yeah it's not as fancy. But boy oh boy is she a performance car. Take the specs. to European car manufacturer they will give you a Supercar price. |

I definitely didn't read all 12 pages of this thread so pardon me if I cut and paste something already done.
Wiki: A supercar (also known as exotic car) is a very expensive and high-performance sports car or grand tourer.[1][2] Supercars are marketed by automakers as unusual and include limited production specials from an "elite" automaker, standard-looking cars modified for power and performance, as well as models that appeal to enthusiasts from smaller manufacturers.[3] "Supercar" is also a label custom car retrofitters reserve for their showcase, one-of-a-kind project vehicles; typically these are very extensively modified collectible muscle cars, sports cars or grand touring automobiles updated to the very latest "streetable" racing technology.[4][5] My gut answer to the question was "No" until I read the wiki definition. Now I'm on the fence about it. I think the Z06 has reached Supercar status this year. I think the difference for me between the ZL1 and a Supercar, is that you can drive the ZL1 out in public without feeling completely conspicuous, whereas a supercar, you cannot! Only diff to me! |
