DIC Message - Trunk Open

I started having a weird symptom over the weekend. When I turn on the vehicle I get a "Trunk Open" message on the DIC, even though the trunk is actually closed. Then, when I open the trunk, the "Trunk Open" message goes away. Has anyone run into this before and what did you have to do to fix this? I've tried replacing the fuses in F23 of the driver-side fuse panel, but still getting the same symptom.

Electrical issues are such headaches

Could be a ground. If the fuse is together, its good no doubt. Maybe theres a sensor? I dont want to give you wrong information

Check the switch in the trunk and the wiring to make sure the connector hasn't come off.

Agree. I would suspect an open circuit giving a false positive, the connector might just be loose.

Thanks, guys! I will check that out. I have a trunk lid cover with the LED lighting, so it is very possible that the connector has come off.

This happens to me from time to time. Haven't done anything about it. If it was a loose switch or connection I think it would do it a lot more. Maybe it happens only when an angel gets its wings.

I wondered what that awful smell coming from the trunk was. Also explains why none of the bananas I buy at the store make it home.

Forgot to close this out, but my issue turned out to be the trunk lid latch. Dealer ordered the part and replaced the bad one for me.
