Personally, I still find it curious that the Camaro's stock intake is that inefficient or that a CAI is so efficient it would require adjustments to the air/fuel ratio. If I'm wrong - I'm wrong, but these things are fairly expensive. I'm all for CAIs (have one on both the Challenger and Mustang) but buyer beware...
I understand but you have to look at the stock intake. It gives pretty good IAT's but it has a big accordian section in the tube that kills airflow. Improving on that alone is worth quite a bit. Most the ones that require a FT adjustment are the ones that don't have the MAF in the proper location or depth or have a lot of turbulence before the MAF causing screwy readings. The Halltech (mine) has a huge velocity stack on the intake tube inlet and is all one piece. That gives one or two less places to get turbulent airflow. It's the little things that make one CAI stand out above the other. Expensive is a matter of opinion. If you can get a good CAI that can net you 10whp for around $300-350, that comes out to $30-35/hp. That's a deal in anyones book. I do agree that you can't take just the manufacturers word on gains. There are quite a few people that run all of these CAI's and there are dyno sheets around. We also have several trusted performance shops that give their opinion from time to time.

I went with the Roto-fab CAI, it makes the underhood stand out and performs outstanding

Halltech... I'm not satisfied with anyone else's research into the IAT readings than them.

You won't be sorry. It's what I have and I'm very happy with it.

In my opinion go with a company you trust that will provide good service and then decide for yourself what look you're going for (Lots to choose from). The gains are all similar and I'm not sure why people argue over 9 whp vs 13whp...

I chose the CAI intake and installed it tonight and I couldn't be happier! The fitament is perfect, it was simple to install (i'm not mechanically inclined) and if you have any questions they are willing to call/email you from the shop and walk you through anything. Now my Camaro doesn't sound like my dad's bone stock Silverado and has a much nicer "muscle-car" sound when you get on it

Considering the install was not correct on ours or CAI Inc. we both faired pretty well -

" For the engineers in the crowd, the Cold Air Inductions and ADM Street intakes both performed well, taking the top HP spot and the third fastest accelerating, respectively. "

Not putting down any of the CAI's in the test but the test itself is flawed and has already been discussed numerous times. It shows that you can't just look at the numbers. There are other other factors that can easily skew results.

Throw my 2 cents in....

I have owned the Halltech and currently using the Injen.

Both for me are fantastic intakes. Can't go wrong with either. I "feel" the Injen is more responsive down low and pulls harder up top vs. the Halltech. Both are no tune required CAI's. Many will argue the metal piping on the Injen will decrease performance. Certainly not by my seat of the pants feel and the v-6 crowd have proven dyno tests. I will be dyno'ing on 5/15 so will have results then.

My list of top CAI's available in no particular order:

Halltech
Roto-fab
CAI
ADM
Injen

Hope this helps.

Agreed with above and in no order, all top of the line. And that GM test is now old, flawed, and did not include all of the current CAI top best choices. Would not advise folks to follow this at all.
