Guys, if you don't like the hot wheels edition but like the blue color you can have your Camaro painted kinetic blue for less than half the cost.

Maybe at Maaco.

It would be cheaper to de-badge it, place a SS emblem on the grille instead of the HOTWHEELS logo. and remove the ghosted flame, it's probably vinyl anyway. And replace the seat cover. for a LOT less than ~$7,000

To get a complete repaint....door jams, under hood & trunk....not only wouldn't be cheap....it would take away from the value of the car if you ever wanted to sell or trade it.

Not to mention taking out the entire interior...if you wanted to really do it right.

Still hoping for a true blue(or this blue) from GM on a SS

You can get a complete paint, door jambs, efc. For $3500.
My point is that if you are thinking about buying a hot wheels car just because you like the color(and many of us do) you can get the car painted and save approx. $3500.

But yeah, the color will prolly be available in2014 if past experience with Camaro special colors holds true.

Maybe at Maaco, or a DIY project. Any real shop doing a decent full color change will run you over $3,500 easy... Unless you have a shop giving you a hook up on a great price for labor... as in under the table good buddy type deal. At 80 man hours that would be ~$43 a hour.

But That's not the point of the thread.

Well I don't know about others, this is just me personally but:

Transformers: cheesy

Hot wheels: cheesy

Kinetic blue metallic: eFFing awesome and if GM only offers this color on the hot wheels package that will be the epic of epic fails on GM's part.

Again, not knocking on the transformers package at all or anyone who has a transformers edition. If that's what you like....cool. But me personally, no bueno.

Sent from my abacus using precise finger movements......

Since I didn't really say it above... I think it's awesome.
It also seems to me that a Special Edition should have unique color

I understand wanting certain colors, I absolutely wanted my Camaro to be Hugger Orange!
Maybe Chevy will see there way to release another similar blue down the road.

Love the kinetic blue metallic color and strangely those little emblems grown on you after awhile. Although I must admit, the Transformer logo still freaks me out a little when I get into in the car.

Would you buy a new Camaro to get this color if it were a production option (not Hot Wheels)?
