burnout techniques

Looking forward to doing some runs in the near future. Obviously turning off traction control. But any pointers would be helpful.

Sell me your F1's for super cheap and put cheap tires on for the burnouts.

Best advise ever. Not crazy $$$, and definitely worth it.

A line lock is a device that allows the front brakes to lock independently of the rear brakes via a switch. This way you can lock the front brakes, and do a burnout without the car moving.

They are cheap

They lock the front brakes while you heat up the rears

Can do it with a button or switch. Plenty out there.

I don't burn rubber in the 1LE. Too much wheel hop and guys on this forum have had their half shafts snap.

Hell I cant even get into the throttle real hard in second gear yet not warm enough here cant get enough heat into the tires. just over comes the rear wheels and start to get hop.

pop the clutch stay on the gas and hold the brake with your left foot.( clutch then brake kind of fast) OR like my friend did on my car he held the brake with his right heal and worked the gas with his right foot (front tip) "heal brake toes gas" while holding the brake with his left foot. Either way works good.

Line lock is a good idea. Never do water burn outs with tires with tread as the water picked up in the tread will pool at the bottom of the tire and kill the launch. I would not assume that a burnout to heat a street tire will help its launch. If you really want to launch this car hard, get some drag tires or slicks for when at the track. They are much cheaper than the Goodyears anyway!

PS: Just keep in mind that the addition of traction can help find the next weakest link.....and that can be costly!

Being a fairly new ZL1 owner I find burn outs available at almost any point I desire and sometimes even when I don't. LOL

Use the launch control, you will take off but you can lay serious rubber if you want.
