Exactly. Naming a car "SS" is a terrible decision.

How about in the dead of winter when they introduced the first Z28 ?? And sat on it with next to no promotion for the 602 of them in 1967....and nearly half a year without even a Z28 logo on it !!

No way. They know consistency needs to be in place. You don't mess with a selling recipe. Not a chance.

I agree, I think this rumor is 'full of it", I don't see Chevrolet making that mistake again (having the Z/28 as base V8).

Why not? GM doesn't have the engine variants to have an SS, Z/28 and a ZL1 all at the same time. If there is a Z/28 it will have to replace the SS and be cheap enough to be the base V8 which means it won't be worthy of the Z/28 badge.

Maybe the Z/28 just needs to stay a historic icon and left alone...

LS3, LSA, LS7 and LS9.

LS3 is the SS and LSA is the ZL1. What engine would go in the Z/28?

Yes, I was one of them but I doubt it will happen now. I don't see GM making that happen. If they were willing too it would have been done by now.

The LT1 would be a perfect fit with the extra torque and the 475hp rating I am still hoping that it will be dialed in once the final numbers are in
