RS with polished wheels

How many people got the RS package and then upgraded to polished wheels? I've been on the fence about which to get, but I won't get both. For me, I like the polished wheels, but when I saw the midnight wheels, I thought they looked alright and for an extra ~$700 I'd get the HIDs a the specialty of an RS. I don't care too much for the stock wheels and want to upgrade, but for an SS, the RS is another 1200 and if you get the polished, all that money is basically for HIDs. I just can't see paying $1200 for new lights. I've seen some threads about after market HIDs, and they are expense. But why spend that much for just lights.

Once you've had a vehicle with HID headlights, it's hard to go back. So for me, I ordered my car with the RS package. As for the polished rims, I ordered those as well since they are roughly $100 a rim for the upgrade. In the grand scheme of things adding a couple grand to a mid-$30's car isn't that big of a deal. Do it right the first time and get what you want.

Really...you are going to LOVE the HID's. This is the first time I've EVER had HID's and I will NEVER go back. I thank God I ordered the RS package and yeah...it was for some halo's basically.

As for the polished wheels, I would only suggest you get them depending on the color you ordered and your final layout of what you want done. If there were another set or potential for you to get a different wheel combo later on, then stick w/ the MS wheels. If you are planning on keeping the stock wheels, I'd lean more towards the polished...they really DO look good....and the majority of the time, look better than the MS wheels.

I have a 2SS/RS with the 20" polished wheel option. At the dealer parked next to another SS without a wheel option those wheels look dirty- They look like gloss gray paint. For me the polished rims were a must.

I was just commenting to my wife- the two best things I got on my car were polished wheels and RS package. No matter the cost, the appearance of these two things really makes my car look great- one at night (those headlights with the halos look mean as hell) and one during the day (polished wheels make a huge difference). The painted wheels look dirty, like you said. Of course, it's a matter or taste, and everybody has different taste- I'll tell you this, if you want polished wheels, you better get them 'cause you won't be happy without them.

I ordered the RS package and upgraded the wheels. Both wheels look great but I like the polished over the Midnight paint wheels. I nixed the WJS comfort package because I don't need bluetooth or heated seats and added other stuff.

Ya, what he said. The HID's match or exceed the best I've seen in any car and the halo rings are just plain old COOL. Must have.

As far as the polished rims, IMO that's strictly personal choice. For me, I didn't want them because it pulls an "onlookers" attention away from the car as a whole. They'll instantly focus on the "shiny wheels". I wanted for myself and others to instantly admire the beauty of the car as a whole. Like I said, personal preference and nothing against those who did order the poilshed rims- they do look fantastic.

With the onset of many aftermarket rims (the LS7 rims thread comes to mind) I'm sure you won't have a problem finding some polished 20" SS rims very shortly.
