[QUOTE=RJT Impala;6984469]Thanks RJT. The drive up Pikes peak was probably the craziest drive I've ever done. I couldn't imagine racing up it. But if you ever have a chance to go you should, its awesome.

Had some nice weather so I jumped in the redsled and I wound up in Hastings, Michigan. Guess who I found? Kensinger Jones, the man who wrote the jingle! There he is with his wife beautiful wife Alice. They were so kind to take a picture next to my car. |

Took a 350 mile road trip on Sunday to visit my brother in Pine Knot, KY. Saw a few notable things on the scenic route back home.
Love those Rock City barns. This one is in Winfield, TN, on US-27, just south of the KY/TN state line. Close-up: Abandoned CNTP (Cincinnati, New Orleans, Texas, Pacific) Railroad bridge. Built in 1879 to span the New River in Scott County, TN. Abandoned in 1963, when a bypass was brought online. Research when I got home found, the railroad had high hopes, as you can tell from its name, but it only got as far as Chattanooga. On to Wartburg, TN - here's the Morgan County Courthouse. Morgan County is also famous for having Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary, located in Petros, TN. Didn't realize I was close, until I got home & googled...
