I got a V6 Camaro, but man I wanted an SS badly! They look better because of the front bumper is slightly different and they sound awesome! Plus the extra 100HP is great!

There is such a breakdown. It's here: (Numbers courtesy of Scott S.):

Here's the breakdown for 2011 and 2012 Camaros: (Numbers courtesy of Scott S.):

Also, I've attached the official "2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Details Book" in pdf format. GM describes their "Target Customer" (actually a comparison / contrast) for the Coupe and Convertible, V6 & V8. Broken down by age, gender, education & income. Check page 4 for these details.

I must correct myself, there is no direct comparison of between V6 and V8 buyers. However, from the 2nd table on page 4, GM lists 3% of convertible buyers as buying a convertible for "Power and Acceleration" vs. 8% for the Coupe. This would infer that Chevrolet expects to sell more V6 convertibles than V8 convertibles.

I'm a little surprised the V8s are widening the gap. Of course, we're just polling C5 members here - I see WAY more V6s than V8s on the road.

It's exactly what I would expect on here. I also see more V6's than SS's around here but I live in a college town and see a lot of LS models.

there are probably more V8 people on this forum but I've gotta believe V6's are 2-1 over V8's .Also more women than men.

I own a V8 Camaro Z28
I have driven more than one gen 5 V8, one was a 1LE with a track cam.
Got a really really fast ride in a ZL1...
Then I got in my V6 and still loved it, it's my daily driver.
I can remember when 323hp was considered to be pretty potent.
I quickly learned back in high school auto shop that going fast=money.
It's good that you enjoy your V8 but we're not all that shallow.
You're comparing apples to oranges.

I wouldn't be surprised on this forum the V8 will win the poll. I could be dead wrong here but the forums for the Camaro enthusiasts seem to gravitate the V8 crowd more then the V6 owners. Its not a bash on the V6 owners or disrespect them. I used to own one its just from what i have read here on the forums for the last 4 years.

Do you have any other details books for other years or Camaro iterations or know where one could their hands on them?

Is there any specific year or brochure you're interested in?
