OK, Alex worked with another tuner on the East Coast, did some profiling, and loaded a new tune on the car on Saturday. Ecstatic to report the hitching is almost non-existent, with only a hint of it only under 1500 RPM.
As I said before, the power had always been there - now with the hitching issue resolved I will be posting further about the driving experience and try to get some details from Alex on what went into the tune for future reference.

So how are things looking with this build? I am hoping you were able to get more of the problems your were experiencing worked out. Any driving video's? Would love to hear those turbo's spool up.

Sorry no updates for a while. Still having issues with the hitching. Will be taking it to another tuner over the winter. Even with that issue, which occurs at/under 2500 RPM, it is a blast to drive. I will post some video soon(tm).

Hopefully they figure it out. Even Blakes car doesn't have that issue with the twin 61s and a MASSIVE cam for a 376ci motor.

Update - I am working with a very experienced tuner, starting from scratch on the tune.

Mine hunts/surges at idle and up to 1k rpm'ish. My tuner said it was because of the short distance between the MAF and the vertical bend to horizontal going into the throttle body. Said at least 6" of straight piping (before the MAF sensor) was necessary to prevent turbulence, thus surging. I asked AGP and they said MAF was in a good location and the tuner should be able to get the surging out. Soooooo.......

Were you able to get the surging issue resolved? I am having the same exact problems along with inconsistent idle after my AGP kit install. I have a good sized custom spec'd cam for the turbos, but it was installed pre-turbos with no issues. BTW, I do not think this is an issue with the kit itself. I'm very impressed and pleased with quality and performance of the AGP TT kit.

I haven't been back to the tuner to resolve this (it's annoying but not enough at the moment to dictate a drive in). I'm thinking it may be more than just the MAF acting up, like timing and fuel. I think some data logging is in store. AGP says they have no problem with their installs so maybe the tuner needs to talk to them about resolving the surging at idle. It is a pain when it bucks and clunks at low rpm.

Yes it is a pain. Mine does at any rpms when at cruising speeds like Harry was experiencing. I'm going to take it back to the tuner to see if he can get it resolved, but was hoping you guys had narrowed the problem area down in your tune so I could possibly tell him where to look first. Anyway, I'll report the findings if he's able to resolve the issue. Thanks!

Your tuner SHOULD contact AGP for help if they're not sure what direction to go.

Just wanted to post a quick update...
All of my drivabilty issues that I was having after the AGP kit install have been resolved thanks to Chuck's LSX tuning in Houston. Apparently, the previous tuner/installer did a MAF tune only on my car and left the VE tables (speed density) practically blank which is what was causing all of the issues I was having, along with a few other incorrect settings. Chuck installed a new 3 bar MAP sensor for a ZR1, then put the car on the dyno, built the VE tables, and tweaked several other things in the tune. The car drives better now than it did when in stock form, and is back to getting good MPG on the highway. It's silky smooth at all times, even with a decent cam installed. I just drove the car from East Texas to North Florida and back without any issues whatsoever. Here's a link to a tutorial that I found here on the forum that helpled me out a lot through all of this.... http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196696 |

Glad to hear. Tuner can make a world of difference. A lot of people do MAF only because it is quick and easy. A lot of times there is nothing wrong with that (my car is maf only) but some cars need the VE tables because of the size cam, or setup.
