Thanks, I actually race a Spec Racer Ford with the SCCA. It's an open cockpit single seater but I got the Camaro to run during occasional track days as I only see my race car at the races, and that's only 6-7 weekends per year.
I did however get the pole and win the race in it this past Sat at TWS. I'd be happy to give you some pointers anytime, just email me at: garyg@fitcorpusa.com and I'll give you my cell. |

[QUOTE=Norm Peterson;8067294]November 16, 2014, NJMP/Thunderbolt, Millville NJ / 1:38 / 2008 GT - Michelin Pilot Super Sports / Dry . . . air and track temps ~48°F, new pb.
Hookedup - seems I still need to find about 3 more seconds somewhere Norm, after about 15-20+ mixed track days with both cars, I have retired the 1LE!!!!!!! ( Unless the T/A breaks again!!!!!) Lots of new stuff in the T/A, (Trans/clutch/rearend/rotors/calipers/TIRES/and misc safety gear! Either way.. I sincerely learned the capabilities of the 1LE, do I appreciate the safety of a fully caged "track only" car, YES... I would have enjoyed bringing the 1LE to the next level, but.. better focus was to "be safe, be happy driving at 7/10th's, and bring home , in full running condition, what you started the event with! This winter will suck, looking forward to many more track days come spring... |

7/10ths seems to be the point that Hooked On Driving has people shooting for, so that some margin remains for coping with the unexpected. I suspect that I step a little past 7/10the on occasion, though not so far that I get bit by it. Had to catch a little tail looseness exiting T1 in session 1 last week (following a fairly late off-line pass). Quote:

NJMP tried to get a couple of winter dates to work last year but the weather was completely uncooperative for one and the majority of the entrants guessed wrong for a reschedule date for the other. This is the track itself putting the events on, rather than NASA-NE, HOD, PCA, BMWCCA, etc.
