Plasti Dip

Hey guys , i dont usually ever post anything , just read !! but i need your help ..

I am trying to change color of my car , and one of my friend suggest to just plasti dip my whole car , he said its durable and cheaper than paint !!

so my question is , has anyone tried this , not just rim but the whole car ?

whats the difference between wrap and plasti dip ?

how much did it cost ?

and what color should i go with lime green with black hood or bright orange with black hood ?

below are the pics . first pic is the color of my car , and the other two pics are the color im thinking off !!

Thanks for all the help

actually that bottom pic looks like a wrap. Maybe someone who knows can chime in but from my experience neither of these options are going to be as durable as paint. However the plasti dip method is probably your best option because I think it is easier to fix and it's cheaper. There have been several people who have plasti dipped their whole car. Do a search for it.

You can buy a DIY kit here. I've been toying with this idea as well...

Ya I just wonder how long the $600 buys you. 2-3 years of it looking good? If it lasts long enough I would consider it, our paint sucks.

I'd go with the lime green personally. I like the looks of the greens on the 5th gen Camaros. Just my .02

i read 6 months...and then it has to be retouched

i wonder how much for the re-touch and i'd probably have to pay someone skilled to do it

but i guess it beats a 10,000 dollar paint job in terms of cost

Ya the first rock that hits is gonna leave a tear. Don't get me wrong, id love to get my car plasti diped in a custom color but it just doesn't seem logical. I hope it works out for you OP, do some more research and let us know what you find out.

Idk man, I am pretty sure that if you chip/tear the dip you have to go over it again. So now you got to drag everything out and remix your custom color? not fun

Plasti-dipping the car is around the same cost as a clear bra for our car. Not super relevant information but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Well the thing is , if i have a tear or rip the guy said just bring it to me and i will repair it for you !! other thing was , i looked into and the guy said it will last 2-3 years . if it last even a year and half 600 bucks for a whole diff look is not bad at all in my opinion
