Absolutely. Every day, rain sun shine or blizzard. Twice this year I was literally the only car on the road, driving to my folks's house in really bad snow storms. My 2012 1SS is much easier to drive in the snow than the car I drove in the snow from '89 until 1997 when it became a summer only car- a RWD car with a 455 that had no ABS, no TC, no nothing.

This is my second year doing it with my 1SS LS3. There's no trick except to get snow tires and understand how to drive in the snow.

I drove it to Vermont for a ski trip and left during a massive snow storm... Got pretty far before I gave up, I was impressed with how well it handled. (As long as it wasn't up hill)

Drove mine here in TX all through the winter and we got a fair amount of snow and ice this year. Car did pretty well in the snow on the stock Pirelli's but the ice was another issue all together. Car handled terribly and I almost got stuck a couple of times trying to go up hill in the ice. I'm from the east coast though so I am no stranger to driving in snow and ice. What really worries me the most about bad weather is the other drivers out there. Worry about someone crashing into me.

I drove a G8 and Charger (both RWD) through 5 MN winters. If you leave the nannies on, drive slower, and get snow tires (the most important part) you should be fine unless there's more than a few inches of snow on the ground.

Well, I'll say it again. It's appalling how many so called "enthusiasts" try to drive through winter on summer tires. Let's just say you're asking for a negligent homicide charge and you would deserve it. Stop before you kill someone, maybe yourself.

Just got done with my 3rd winter in my SS LS3 and this year's was the worst winter in 30 years. Counting the 2 winters in my 2LT M6 I've driven the past 5 winters in RWD Camaros. They are truly exceptional with winter tires.

As already stated start in second gear sometimes and turn off traction control in deep, unplowed snow and you'll be fine.

Gotta say that in actual snowstorm conditions when the streets aren't plowed, all-season tires are inferior to actual snow tires. The shoulder being more angular on the snow tire has a benefit.

I would imagine with snow tires they'd be OK, but ground clearance is the big issue. I would never buy an SS as a daily driver in a state that has winters. It's the wrong tool for the job.

With Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow tires, I've driven almost daily through 2 winters now. I do have an old 4x4 as back up if it gets really deep but rarely have to use it and the car is much nicer to drive. I hate hearing the brakes grinding if I slide the back end a bit on the snow so the nannies are usually turned off.

Edit: just re-reading the original question ... mine's a manual tranny but an auto should be fine too.
