Deciding on a hood is tough!

I originally wanted an AMS hood by VIS but decided against it after looking closely at the weave.

I'm down to the Showstopper hood and the TL1 insert by ACS. I really like the look of the insert but I don't want people to assume I'm trying to "copy" the ZL1... I'd be buying it because it looks killer! ZL1 or not... I had to get the rockers because it was begging for it lol

The Showstopper hood is solid too but its quite an investment after buying the hood, painting the hood then getting my Xpel film installed to match the rest of my car. It's doable but I'm not sure it's favourable.

Heres a quick photoshop of my car with the TL1 insert and I'll also post a pic of a fellow member with the Show stopper hood for reference. I'd be keeping the insert gloss black, so that's pretty much what it would look like.

What do you guys think??

I've seen 2 with zero issues but out of what u have probably the showstoppers one

I'd go with an insert either CF or painted gloss black on your car. The CF accents you were wanting to do can still work but instead of the whole hood, just the insert would flow better with matte black IMO.

I vote for the TL1 inset it just looks really good on the Camaro.

Every one I've seen has it. I'm not saying it's bad. But it wouldn't fly with me... My eye would always catch it and it would irritate me.

Ya, I totally agree. The insert in carbon would look pretty awesome.

a) I'm leaning towards the insert, it's just cutting the stock hood that has me feeling all weird lol

Thanks do what I did purchase another hood for $65 and used that one to cut and I kept my stock hood if I ever went back. BTW my insert is painted AGM (Ashen Grey Metallic).

unless you upgrade your front bumper to the zl1 bumper, I think the hood on the right with the vents fits better with your car. I was thinking of getting the same one.

Where did you find the hood for $65??

Craig's list I actually picked up one for $65 and one for $80. Both were black in great shape. I used one as a test hood (I turned around and sold it) and used the other one that was brand new and cut this one and used it until I sold the hood last month.

There are no hoods around here. Every search is coming up short.

Does anyone have a part number or know how much they are new?
