Metallica's new album

So i listened to 2 songs from their new album... I must say that it is WAAAYYY better than that St. Anger bullshit they put out, but it's still not... Metallica. go to playlist.com and search for "The day that never comes" and "My Apocalypse." Your thoughts?

OOOooooh...new album! I'll have to look for this one. I sure hope it goes back to "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and "One," "Master of Puppets, and I could go on forever...

You can't expect them to re-capture their former glory. Don't expect Master of Puppets 2. Just realize that this is Metallica 2008. If we get anything that even sounds remotely like thrash metal, we are lucky.

I have heard samples of all the songs and I must say this is the most promising album since 1991. Two of the songs are available for streaming in their entirety.

I like what I've heard and I will be buying it.

Music is kinda like the Camaro. Who doesn't think the first gens were the best?

Who doesn't think Kill Em All, Master, Ride the Lightning and Justice weren't the best? I do.

Your first girlfriend? Was she the best? Probably not but you still have fond memories don't you?

You still love your first car even though it was a pile of sh!t right?

You can never replace the first so to speak.

Evolution is inevitable. And yes, this is MUCH better than St Anger.

+1

Although, to be honest claiming that their new album is better than St Anger is almost a given. I had a listen when a friend bought it a few years ago. I didn't even want to burn a copy.

Death Magnetic might be better then St Anger, which I agree, and those or only two songs in which I have only heard, I have to reserve judgment until I hear the whole album. Slipknot meanwhile, there new album is in your face awesome.

Saying the new stuff is better than St Anger isn't really saying a lot. St Anger was the worst Metallica album ever, even though the songs did sound a lot better when played live.

I have heard a few of the songs off the new album, and like it so far. Keep in mind that METALLICA has been around for a long time, and in that time they have matured in their music style. I happen to like all of METALLICA'S albums...... some better than others. I also have matured since the first METALLICA album. ROCK ON METALLICA.
