To the best of my knowledge it will NOT void any warranties. All it does is let you shift from 1st to 2nd under any acceleration condition the same way it does under "heavier" acceleration ANYWAYS...

I would suggest just buying the skip shift eliminator, it was worth it.

Skip shift is one of the worst things I have ever experienced in a car, other than drum brakes, but $25 and its gone. I drove a test drove 98 WS6 and never heard of it before. I damn near destroyed the shifter trying to get into 2nd gear, The salesman had no clue, said to park it in the service drive when we got back. its unnatural.

Does the new Camaro have a skip shift light? In the Fbody's the light still comes on even with the eliminator unless skip shift is programmed out.........not a big deal but i have heard some bitch about it.

The GTO has a skip-shift "logo" that still lights up even when the eliminator is installed. No big deal ignoring it.

Yep on the GTO i've never noticed it. The Camaro should be the same.

On my 2000 TA it was very annoying.

I had it on my Vette and as mentioned above it eliminates or helps to eliminate the gas guzzler tax so we should all be thankful they have included it on the Camaro.

Second, it is a breeze to defeat and literally takes just a few minutes to install the "override" and it is undetectable. Even if they figure out that you defeated it, they should care less and it would never effect the function of the trans or could be faulted for causing a failure. There are probably hundreds of threads over the years on this at Corvetteforum.

I think you guys are thinking of the Stall Converter on the tranny?

I doubt this 6 speed is gonna be running like the old 4's.

i couldn't care less about a stall, but then again i'm running the M6! as for the auto guys, just about any V8 auto could use a high-stall converter

no, we are talking about CAGS. Computer Assisted Gear Selection in manuals.

the torque converter and programming in the auto will automatically shift it to the optimum gearing based off of inputs from the engine, (unless you are in manual mode), but we are talking about the CAGS aka skip shift.

Its real easy to fix; just keep your foot in it and you won't have to worry about the skip shift. Never been a problem for me on my 4th Gen nor my vette.
