I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this. I love my car, but after test driving a Mustang it was like night and day as far as the clutch was concerned. I was driving the Mustang smoother on a 20 minute test drive than I do my own Camaro after a year of ownership...somewhat frustrating to say the least. I will try shifting at a little higher RPMs as someone suggested, who knows it may help...I don't think I'm shifting too early but holding on to a gear a bit won't hurt anything other than my gas mileage. I need to take my car into the dealership soon anyways to get the leather redone (the infamous wrinkled leather) so I will bring this up while I'm there. I wonder if they'll let me test drive another M6 Camaro on the lot to see if its my car or just the Camaro in general?

It's not just you. I recently went to the dealership for a test drive/dealing/drooling. Ended up driving three different SS's because I felt like there must be something wrong with the clutch set-up after the first drive. Very difficult to get that clutch to disengage smoothly, especially under any kind of serious acceleration. He reluctantly admitted that it has been the most common issue sited during test drives. BTW, I have driven manuals of every variety for over 20 years now so I knew it wasn't just me.

I have found that on starting out the clutch is sensitive, so I keep my heel on the floor and have overcome this. Shifting after start I found that if I only depress the clutch 1/2 way instead of all the way to the floor I get easier, smooth shifts, especially when I "get on it".

I have noticed that the 2-3 shift at low rpm seems to "clunk" into 3rd, but with more revs it slides in smoothly.

I had the same problem till I heard a pop sound from the clutch pedal and the clutch started engaging smoother. I won't even bother looking for what it was because it drives much easier now and i'm a GM tech

I'm glad I came across this thread, I picked up my Camaro 3 weeks ago and thought it was just my driving! Glad to know I'm not alone. As I got used to the power of this thing, it has been a lot smoother. I don't have a problem ever with 2-3 or higher, it's 1-2 that is more likely to be jerky for me. Even when I pay attention and try to rev match I often can't get it quite right.

Compared to my old Acura Integra GSR, my SS shifts are rough and notchy.
