Whipple belt shredding issues pics/vid

Hey all, I seem to be having issues with my belt liking to shred. In the first 200kms of whipple install I shredded one. I wrote that one off to something else. Well I put another on and I went on a 500km trip south, and saw a pile of rubber built up again. Did 5 passes down the track and no more rubber, thought maybe its just breaking in. Drove home and in total about 2000kms and now it's shredding rubber again. And I'm getting a strange noise at start up from the belt. It's almost off the edge of the tensioner, which I think is my issue. It's wrapped tight around the sc pulley. Not sure if the lower idler pulley is recessed in too much causing it to be misaligned on the tensioner. On to the pics and vids.

My tensioner is no where near that close, may be your belt too long? Just a thought.

Hmm, it was the exact same as the whipple supplied belt. Ours do look so different

Under load at hi rpm, the tensioner will move towards the drivers side,in your case,it will touch the other idler/belt.
Use a shorter belt, use the pic the Kiwi posted as an example.

Where do you adjust front to back? Maybe space out the pulley bracket 1/8 or so

And correct me if I'm wrong the tensioner goes to the passenger side or downwards under load

You have two idler pulleys to adjust. You probably forgot to adjust the bottom one. Just tighten it up and you should be good to go

That will adjust left to right, but it looks almost like I'm out front to back

My belt rides close to the backside of my tensioner pulley as well, however my setup mirrors the pic posted by Kiwi_Camaro_2010. I'd have to agree that possibly the two idler pulleys are not adjusted correctly. Hope you get it worked out!

So does mine. These use the ten rib tensioner that's why it looks like it's riding toward the back. It's normal.

Why is there a 10 rib tensioner on a 6 rib system is my first question?

Your belt is routed wrong or adjusted incorrectly.

They started doing this a few years ago due to belt slip with their 6 rib tensioner. It's a much beefier tensioner
