6.50s in the 1/8th
Anyone here in the 6.5s in the 1/8th and still a street car. I am looking to go to one vehicle instead of owning two like i have now so i pinned it down to either a 5th gen ss auto or a coyote 5.0 auto. So if anyone is running these times. What your power level and what kind of mods are we talking? Cam, stall, spray?

If it were that easy, everyone would be doing it. Some of the members on the forum make running quick look easy, but it isn't. I'm assuming the OP wants to DD his car based on his original post. It can be done, but you are going to have to do some serious upgrading to keep it reliable.

Thats the plan, Only had this car 6weeks. I've only played the truck game and I'm talking BIG HP trucks. Still trying to blue print the setup I want and trying to run 3 business and trying to make time for this hobby is hard lol

By Big HP trucks, I'm assuming you are talking Diesels, which come with a HD drivetrain from the factory. Camaros (and other muscle cars) are not built with HD drivetrains. Count on upgrading pretty much everything drivetrain related if you want to be able to make more than a couple of passes on sticky tires without things going boom.

Nice rig. Personally, as a gearhead, I've done the math, and by the time I purchase an SS, and put 20 grand into it to get to the level I want, I am far better off just sticking with an 6 cylinder LS, which I don't have the craving to mod, and dumping the 30 grand left over into a dedicated drag build, or, if I wanna go REALLY fast, a built 'Busa drag bike, that I can build for $15K all in, and if it breaks, I can still get to work in my Camaro.
I give much respect to everyone running quick and fast in 5th gens, but personally, if i'm building a Drag vehicle, I'm not going to start with one that weighs nearly 4000 lbs. |
