consumer reports worst picks?
Okay so I haven't owned my camaro to long but consumer reports has the 2SS convertible camaro as the worst. I saw this on a news blurb. Does anyone subscribe that can post the consumer report version up here? I'm interested In seeing what they based their decisions on. If gas mileage was a factor or not for one.... some other cars on the list were a surprise to me also like the Altima????
Has anyone seen this report yet? I'm sure who ever wrote the report doesn't own a camaro most likely drives a mustang

yes, I have read it. It's almost completely garbage. Consumer Reports is not a trustworthy source anymore, has not been for years
They put the Camaro in the "Sportscar / Convertible" category. Well, not all convertibles are sports cars, and not all sports cars are convertibles. The "winner" was the Miata. Which does not do what the Camaro does. Thre loser was the Camaro, which does not do what the Miata does. It's a bogus comparison. Not only that, they deftly excluded the new Cadillac...oh, and the Stingray as well, which is a better sportscar than many cars which are better at being sportscars than the Miata Do not concern yourself with what Consumer Reports says. They are a biased publication, and it seems to me they like whoever pays for advertising

Consumer Report BS
Gelugon,
I have not seen the full report either, but to be honest any report that has the Toyota Prius listed in its top rankings, will not rank the Camaro as a great car . To that extent I am very glad that my car is the total opposite of the Tree hugging Prius (and their owners). uhh, can't wait to see what kind of crap I will get for this post. haha |

Consumer Reports did not put the Prius and the Camaro are not in the same category....the rankings they list are stupid but at least look at it before you start expounding on it

As I stated right at the beginning of my statement, I have not seen the report. I just read a story on the report and it started with the Prius and ended with he Camaro (not same category). More to the point, my post was meant jokingly rather than an evaluated statement. |

I know the report is crap. They only rate certain products and leave others out. I'm mainly interested is seeing the details of what they compared and what they compared it to.
I guess I need a good laugh. I love my car and that's all that matters.

CR says the iPhone and iPad are bad buys.
Based on that, CR is invalid |

I always figger that if CR hates something, I'll like it. There are no gearheads on their staff...just tree huggers and import lovers.

C.R
I trust C.R and I have received their magazine for a very long time; I have read everything on what they have writte in reference to what car is reliable vs what car isn't , new or used and here are the numbers that are located in the 2014 Buying Guide.
C.R listing as follows : Sport Cars: High - Performance. 1. BMW 135i - score 95 2. Subaru Impreza WRX STI - 89 3. Nissan 370Z Coupe Touring - 86 4. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR - 83 5. Ford Mustang GT Premium (V8) - 83 6. " " (V6) -76 7. Camaro 2SS (V8) - 71 8. Hyundai Genesis Coupe Grand Touring ( V6) - 70 9. Dodge Challenger R/T ( V8) - 67 10. Camaro 2 LT (V6) - 60 C.R recommendation = 1,2,3,6 & 7. Then they have a category for the following. 1. SportyCars 2. Roadsters 3. Convertibles: Four -Seat |

CR's reviews of cars are just like what the bimbo at work would say: "My car is, like, really great, 'cause the speedometer says 140 MPH on it, so it's really fast, and the horn is so adorable, too. The doors also lock automatically when I close them, so, it's a really good car."
"Cool... what KIND of car is it?" "It's a blue one!" |

Consumer Reports needs to be evaluated and ranked as a magazine. We purchased two of their #1 ranked $1000.00 each items a few years ago and both appliance items are long in the trash.
