hey guys sorry i havent been around, got deadlines to take care of!! just so you guys know, it wasnt 15 or 25 solders, it was about 120 wires, times 2, which is 240, plus leds being transfered (about 40) time 2 is 80, plus all the misc stuff, probably around 400 things to do, on top of designing and building boards, figuring out mounting places, extending cables, making harnesses, cutting and moulding the dash, mounting the radio, getting the steering wheel controls to work (and YES I got them to work!). Yes this is a TOOOONNNNN of work, but Ill post up some finished pics and you guys will be amazed. Its going to look factory installed, and everything will function as if it was factory. HVAC controls, on star, steering wheel controls, onstar nav (as well as aftermarket), door locks, dash lights, EVERYTHING! Its going to be like it should have been done in the first place by GM. I know you guys are anxious, but bear with me, the wait will be well worth it. Car goes in for paint tomorrow, and final assembly on Friday, maybe into Sat. Stay Tuned!!!!

I think it was stated above that you were hiding the details so no one would copy your work. From the sounds of that last post I doubt most car audio guys have the level of expertise that you have to even attempt that kind of work!
Looking forward to seeing the final product!

Unfortunately this sounds like it is going to be something most of us around here won't have the time or patience to attack. I've installed headunits and speakers/amps in at least 20 vehicles and this sounds like something I won't want to touch with a 100ft pole. I'm very anxious to see how it turns out though...

There will be solutions, like the one presented in this thread, but it will never be easy. Too many integrated electronics to do a simple dash kit and 1-Din head unit |

I understand that, here's hoping that something close to plug and play comes out...I applaud his efforts, I won't rule it out until I see the final price and difficulty...

The in-progress pics look pretty sick and I'm sure the end result is gonna kick some tail!

Is this going to be produced for sale, or just a one off thing?
