MEMORIAL DAY REPLY.
I see a couple of posts thanking Veterans for their service. Thank you, but today is not for us. Today is for the fallen or MIA men and women who did not come home or came home in a box, those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of this nation. Veterans day is for the living. Even news stations get it wrong. |

Memorial Day is observed, not celebrated. We don’t say ‘Happy Memorial Day’ because it is a gut wrenching day for so many who have lost loved ones. This observation is so that we can take a moment and honor those who sacrificed their lives and rededicate ourselves to the values worth dying for.

It is not proper to wish a Veteran or a Retired Veteran a "Happy Veterans Day." For Us it is a day of Remembrance for those who have paid the ultimate price and for our Family, Friends, and Shipmates (or Comrades in Arms) who have passed away.
