Thank You Hyundai !!

Have to share this...on my way to work this morning on 4 lane road doing 57 in 55 this Hyundai with a butt trumpet comes up next to me and is trying to egg me on. I am politely ignoring him as I usually do, when this Darwin selection cantidate down shifts and floors it.(insert lawnmower sound here) A couple of seconds later I hear his engine cough twice then a loud bang. He pulls to the sholder with steam etc poring from his hood. I slow down to see if he's ok and I see him jump out of the car and is pounding on his hood with both fists. I continue on to work which was a very hard drive as I had trouble seeing thru the tears in my eyes from laughing so hard!! Bottom line is that the new Camaro is so awsome you don't have to race to prove it...you just have to show up to literally blow others off the road.

Wow. I'm pretty new to owning/driving a muscle car, but in the 8 short days I've had it, I've been challenged by a half a dozen or so - everything from BMWs to Corvettes. The body style is so aggressive, I guess the challenges are part of it all, I'm learning. I'm still in break-in [below the required 1500], so I'm extra careful now. An occasional pop, but nothing severe or long lasting!!!

The extra cherry on top would've been pressing the red OnStar button and telling the operator "He blew his engine trying to get in front of me, now he's broken down on the side of the road."

I have to share a story that goes along with this. It is actually a story of a guy on the boards. I was not there, but its straight from the guy that did it. If nothing else, take it as a funny as hell story.

He was in his wifes 2001 SS, not stock, running on something a little meaner than pump gas while at a Central Texas drag track a couple years ago. He pulled up to the staging area as did the car next to him. The car, a rice rocket of some sort, not sure of the model, but full of green neons and japanese word art did its burnout with its fart can making all sorts of noise.
My friend found this to be hilarious, so he opened up the dual exhaust cutouts on his wifes camaro and continued on with his staging. By the time the smoke cleared he saw that the car next to him was not running and the check engine lights were on. He waited a little bit, and they finally had to tow the car off the start line.

EVIDENTLY this car had a very sensitive NOx sensor and the camaro with its dual dumps and racing fuel tripped the sensor from across the track. To add insult to injury, at the time the only way to restart the car was to have the sensor reset BY THE DEALER, so it had to be towed back to the lot.

Needless to say he got to run single on that run. hahaha
